StellaDome Pro is a whole sky digital planetarium system by AstroArts Inc., an experienced software development company which has worked on numerous astronomical applications. A rendering engine which gained recognition through an astronomical simulation software “Stellar Navigator”, calculates the position of celestial bodies, and assures accurate representation of the sky, including simulations from a viewpoint beyond the earth. It has a touch panel interface specially designed for use in a planetarium hall. Planetarium shows can be automated by a script. Additionally it has its own screen splitting system and distortion correction technology. Projection method varies from the single lense projection to the multi-projection. Installation environment can be permanent or mobile. It can even appear as a hybrid system with a mechanical planetarium. It is installed in combination with MEGASTAR in many locations around Japan.
