Equipped with MEGASTAR-IIA、NanoDimmer、MEGASTAR-CLASS
Ohira Giken Ltd. (Representative Director: Takayuki Ohira) announced installation of professional optical star projector MEGASTAR-IIA, ultra-wideband LED dimmer NanoDimmer and ultra compact optical projector MEGASTAR CLASS.
Until renewal a star projector MEGASTAR-IIB has been used for “Waiwai Theater” from 2010. This time it was upgraded to the top-level model MEGASTAR-IIA. The number of projection lenses increased from 12 to 32 improving star sharpness and brightness. New star projector is equipped with the solid state shutter, able to mask arbitrary starry sky area to respond various content.
For the dome lighting, Ohira Giken’s proprietary ultra-wideband LED dimmer NanoDimmer was newly installed. Steplessly controllable from maximum through twilight to zero, it is able to reproduce the light range starting from the shining sun to the light as faint as a black dwarf.
In addition, we provided MEGASTAR CLASS, an ultra compact optical projector that can be easily carried, for a newly started “portable planetarium” service.
The digital projection system has also been upgraded to 4K, and the hybrid projection with the digital planetarium “Stella Dome Pro” by AstroArts has become even more beautiful.
In collaboration with singer-songwriter miwa, as well as popular voice actor Nobuhiko Okamoto, an original audio-visual content has been prepared for renewal show program.

Renewal ceremony took place on July 13, 2018.
Fuji City Council Chairman Mochizuki Noboru, President of Fujikawa City Planning Co., Ltd. Takayoshi Ito, Planetarium Creator Takayuki Ohira attended the ceremony together with local children.
